EZGrader provides grading tools and reference tables for general informational and classroom-convenience purposes. Here’s what that means in practice.

Your syllabus wins

Letter-grade thresholds are conventions, not law. The strict, standard and lenient scales on this site reflect commonly published US grading policies, but your school, district or institution defines the scale that actually counts — including rounding rules, pass marks, GPA point values, and whether a D earns credit. When this site’s chart and your official policy disagree, the policy wins. Verify the thresholds on the letter grade scales page before printing a chart for your gradebook.

Tool output, not professional advice

The percentage and letter-grade math is arithmetic — reliable within the limits of what you type in. But grading decisions (curving, drops, extra credit, incomplete policies, accommodations) are professional judgments this site doesn’t make. Nothing here is educational, legal, or employment advice; for disputes about grades or grading policy, follow your institution’s published procedures.

Accuracy

We check every tool against published conventions and show the basis next to the results (scale labels appear on screen, on printouts, and in CSV exports). Even so, we make no warranty that the site is error-free or uninterrupted. For grades that go on a transcript, double-check against your official gradebook.

Advertising

The site may display third-party advertising (for example Google AdSense) to cover hosting costs. Advertisers don’t influence the scales or the math — an ad is a rectangle on the page, not an editorial voice.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EZGrader and its maintainers are not liable for losses arising from use of this site or reliance on its results — including grading disputes. When the grade is contested, the syllabus and the official gradebook are the authorities.
